As always, our favorite steakhouse to eat at when we are in town. The food is so delicious and the services is always top notch. You could honestly get full off of the amazing salad and breadsticks but save room for dinner because it only gets better. The steak is consistently cooked to the desired temperature and the salmon is delicious as always. You can never go wrong with their bread pudding but Cindy’s cheesecakes are out of this world.
We Had A Good Experience Here At Matt’s Steakhouse In Rolla, Missouri. One Of The Locals Recommended And We Decided To Stop By For A Nice Dinner, We Were Not Disappointed At All Steaks Were Cooked To Perfection. We Will Stop By Again Next Time In Rolla, Missouri.
What a disappointment. My husband loved this place, my first time, and now we wish we would’ve went to McDonald’s over this place for our anniversary. For paying $100+, you expect at least a decent meal… this was not the place. My drink had no alcohol, our calamari wasn’t fully cooked, spinach artichoke dip wasn’t either. Salads were awful. And our meals… even worse. See photo for “medium rare” steak. With certainty, I will never go back here and will make sure no one else does either. How is this place even open? We should’ve known because there were only three other cars in the parking lot in hindsight…
Although the dining room is now permanently closed, Matt's steaks were, by all measures, the best steaks in Mid-Missouri. The bottomless salad and bread sticks were the best around. The service was attentive and friendly, and in two decades of dining here, never screwed up an order. The atmosphere was decidedly rural, along with much of the clientele, but it's the food that made this place special. Now apparently open only for family events, hopefully Matt's still will offer the random carry-out meal for order.
Service was great, although, with the quality of food, they should've just comped the meal. Spinach artichoke dip was overpowering and sour. Salad was wilted, and tomatoes were mushy. Steaks were undercooked for me and overcooked for my wife; neither had any flavor. Sides were bland. They took the appetizer and one of the steaks off the ticket, though both of us only had a couple bites of each item. Not worth it, especially for the price.
Graduation lunch with the family. Maybe a hair pricey for this area, but everyone said the food was great. Had Smothered Chicken Breast, and they didn’t short me on the mushrooms and onions, and plenty of melted provolone. Turtle cheesecake was excellent as expected, but the bread pudding was surprisingly topped with a delicious sweet sauce and was a real hit. Others had the grilled pork chop, 10 oz Top Sirloin, and shrimp skewer, and all enjoyed them.
I had high expectations based off reviews and recommendations from other…but this was THE worst steakhouses experiences I’ve ever had.
The only “good” thing was that my steak was cooked perfectly (although bland and zero flavor), broccoli sides were just green mush….the pork chops looked like they had been pulled from a freezer and were not even seasoned. The $8 kids pizza…our three year old took on bit of and it wind up back on the plate. I tried the pizza and do not blame the kiddo for not eating it - how hard is it to make a cheese pizza…???
The staff was okay, nothing great and not overly friendly. Overall poor experience and good quality.
I highly doubt I’ll be back and would rather have just flushed a $100 down the toilet if I’m being perfectly honest. Very disappointing.
Was upscale and expensive. The five of us ate for about $250. It was my birthday and our first time there. Service was awesome! Food was awesome! Drinks were awesome! Fountain around the beautiful stone fireplace wasn't working, but that didn't matter to much. The driveway could use repaving, luckily the weather was nice or we may have had trouble getting down it in our van. Overall we had a fun time and enjoyed ourselves.
